"The quality of the anvil is not what I expected from Garrett Wade; it's more like what I'd expect from, say, Harbor Freight. The horn is a joke -- it has a pronounced ridge that would mar any metal I tried to form on it. The flat surface was scratched in more than a dozen places, and especially deeply near one of the corners. Also there was a small pit in the middle of the work surface that would have marked the back of any piece of metal I'd forge or planish on it. I work in soft metals -- silver, copper, bronze, and occasionally gold -- and need a smooth surface for hammering on. I was so disappointed; it looked great from the product photo"
