"I bought the lamp with the colorless glass for my grandson, who fell in love with it, not only because he loves trains but because he thinks the ridges look like the Fresnel lenses in lighthouses. When they became available again, I sent him the red and green glasses. He put the green one in the lantern and stacked the red and colorless ones to look like the lights on top of the cell towers. He showed the lantern to a train engineer and conductor and they were impressed. He’s developmentally disabled, so his parents may never light it, except during power outages, but it doesn’t matter. This was one of the best presents he got this year. Excellent quality. A real showpiece."
